En el encuentro político que tuvieron los candidatos demócratas al condado de Cameron, Eddie Treviño y Steve Guerra sobresalieron las destrezas del primero, que tuvo un excelente manejo de foro.

A Guerra le faltó confianza en sí mismo, se le notaba inseguro y nervioso al momento de contestar las preguntas que le hacía la mediadora.

Hubo momentos en que Treviño lo apabullo sin que Guerra pudiera propinarle una respuesta o una pregunta que lo tambaleara.

Ante la asistencia de unas 160 personas, la pizzería Parry’s de Brownsville, Texas, este 7 de mayo 2026, fue el escenario del encuentro, donde la mayoría de la gente que estaba allí le echaban porras y le aplaudían a Treviño que prácticamente se llevó la tarde, relajado con unos tragos de cerveza.

Aun así, nada está definido y el desempate para estos dos gallos demócratas se llevará a cabo el 26 de mayo de 2026 en una elección muy reñida.

Si Guerra le quiere ganar a Treviño, necesita enfocarse a convencer al electorado con argumentos de que él es más capaz que su contrincante y señalar sin ataques personales, todos los desaciertos que ha tenido su opositor desde que inició hace algunos lustros como comisionado de la ciudad de Brownsville, hasta ahora que es juez del condado de Cameron.

During the political forum between the Democratic candidates for Cameron County, Eddie Treviño and Steve Guerra, Treviño’s debating skills stood out, as he showed excellent command of the stage.

Guerra appeared to lack self-confidence. He seemed insecure and nervous while answering the moderator’s questions.

There were moments when Treviño overwhelmed him, without Guerra being able to deliver a response or ask a question strong enough to shake him.

Before an audience of around 160 people, Parry’s Pizzeria in Brownsville, Texas, became the setting for the encounter on May 7, 2026, where most of the crowd cheered and applauded Treviño, who practically owned the evening, relaxed while drinking a few beers.

Even so, nothing has been decided yet, and the runoff between these two Democratic contenders will take place on May 26, 2026, in what is expected to be a very close election.

If Guerra wants to defeat Treviño, he needs to focus on convincing voters with arguments showing that he is more capable than his opponent, while also pointing out —without personal attacks— all the mistakes and missteps Treviño has made since his early years as a Brownsville city commissioner up to his current role as Cameron County judge.
